little taste of Sydney

"do the toilets flush the other way?"

Theoretically the toilets are supposed to flush the other way, but they don't.

there is too little water in their toilets so the water flushes down.

i recently found out that australia is one of the driest places.

i did it.

“Why would you want to explore?

The best for you is a man who will provide for you.

You need a big house, shiny car, and stability.”

Aint that a bore.

Stay in school for 10 years so you can memorize pages of books.

Stay close to mommy and daddy. You wont even learn how to cook.

"Know what you’re getting into. Research it and be smart.

Give me the name, address and phone numbers before you depart."

The name is Australia. The address is Australia.

The phone number is wait for me to call you.

Keep complaining about your life.

You think I need to be mother and wife.

Don’t tell me that’s what I need to be.

That life does not appeal to me.

Don’t you dream of your feet in white sand?

Don’t you wonder what it looks like in places you can’t imagine?

You don’t even try to understand.

You are you. That’s more than fine.

But don’t ever try to change my mind.

“At least take a friend with you, your crazy for going alone.

If something happens to you, don’t call me, Ok?

How to you expect to do this with out me?

You don’t know what to do, you’re just a stupid girl.”

Being tied down is what pushed me to get away.

Don’t take this personal, I do love you.

But nothing will hold me back. I was made to stray.

Don’t tell me what to do, how to do it and what to say.

I will always do what I want. I wont have it any other way.

theres this too.

it is the Great Ocean Road

After Fred and I found 600 bucks on the ground in Melbourne we decided to rent a car and drive down the Great Ocean Road. It is the southern coast of Australia. This is where i came to the realization that the world is more than any of us can imagine. that is when i came to the realization that i was in love.

in love with life. in love with freedom. and in love.

This is for you.

You were my bed, Melbourne.

You warmed me better than any sheet.

I ripped us apart and now we are torn.

You were my dear friend

then I had to leave.

I felt something that I hadn’t before.

I think it was love.

So intense for a week it made my body sore.

My mind, my insides, my body ached for more.

Nobody can find where I am.

Nobody can see where I stand.

Nobody but you knew what to do

and what to say.

I don’t know who pursued who

And it doesn’t matter to me or you..

This is for you my love, with all my love.

At the end of the day

I have that memory saved.

lets all have a FIELD DAY

The day after new years eve seb and scotty took me to a music festival called Field Day.
I have never seen so many people come together and love eachother and dance together as that day.

even though i didnt really sleep the night before i danced my legs off here.

bondi beach

Sorry Dave and Seb, this might be embarrassing but its oh so funny. so after i spend a few days in the hostel in sydney i went to bondi beach to stay with daves friend seb. this is the view from his place. take your time. remember to breath.

first time i spend 4 hours in a fountain

one of my first days at the hostel in sydney Pearl(Boston), Dan(The UK), Milla(Canada), and I took a trip to olympic park.

the park is so spacious yet not very populated. there was a fountain there. a bit of an understatement. we set up camp there like it was the beach.

what does the thinking man do?

my first day in Sydney i met Tom and Joe. They are from England and they were in Australia for a couple months. We met outside of a pub in the city. I asked the time as if i didnt have a watch.

this is us having a few beers in Darling Harbor. we spend all day one day walking around, drinking beers, and being naive travelers. we are a rare breed and its great when we all come together.

is the universe telling me something?

the second day i was melbourne fred and i were walking and we saw money rising from the ground. green paper floating.

"is that, thatsnot, MONEY"
we lookedlike crazy people running for this money on the street. 600 smackers.

the next day we rented a car and drove up the Great Ocean Road. thats really the name of it and rightly so. seeing so much untouched natural ocean, knowing that there are places that can take my breath away all around the world, right then and there i got the disease, the travel bug.

i dont understand how people dont want to get out of where they are. the world is offering itself to you and it is the most amazing thing. nothing compares to feeling like your lungs cant handle it, like your face is about to fall off from smiling so large,

the feeling of knowing that nobody can find me,

if you do exactly what you want to do
you find people exactly like you.           thats to you my friends

melbourne is my place

i caught a flight to melbourne. fred invited me to thecity. fred was an exchange student in san diego and met my great guy friends. i met him once last year, exactly a year ago actually in SD. so i contacted him before coming to australia and he was in melbourne. lucky me.

dropped my stuff off at a hostel and fred and i went to explore and have a beer. this one beer flourished into a week of marina and fred. fred and marina.

melbourne is one of my favorite places. its filled with music and art and grafitti art and paint everywhere and cute cafes and pubs. and the amazing st kilda road hosted the venue where i first realized. the ESPY.

we saw Roots Menuva and  Dialated Peoples, DJ's from New Zealand, rappers from aussie and new zealand. wow i cant get enough of that place.

i saw a b boy on the streets of melbourne. i saw nikes on all their feet. i saw boom boxes old school next to parks.

we went to the Dennis Hopper exhibition. you must get to know how talented and creative that man is. We went to a museum of art. layed on the ground to look up and the whole stain glass ceiling.

sydneys feild day

just to let you allknow, pictures willb e up when i return because i dont know when i get internet.

sooo bondi beach was spectacular. added a bracelet to my collection and found out that i am a dragon in chinese horoscope. i stayed withdaves friend thereand he came down one night. we had a drunken australian night equipped with drinking on the beach, climbing through fences, eating kababs oh great fun.

the day after new years eve we went to a music festival. daves friend seb and his friend scotty. this was not what i was expecting. it was called field day, and boy was it. there were close to 2000 bodies, and altered minds there and the music was out of this world. itstarted raining during one of the performances. needless to say it feltamazing. staying up all night then running a muck dancing all day definetely made my body just shut down and i had to sleep.
